Drug offences come under two types of legislation, Victorian State law and Austraian Commonwealth law.

The 5 most common drug related charges under State law are;

Use - It is an offence to use a drug of dependence. This includes injecting, smoking, inhaling and swallowing. You can also be charged by the police if you admit to having used a drug of dependence

Possession - It is an offence to possess a drug of dependence. This means physically having the drug on you, in your place of residence or in your motor vehicle.

Cultivation - It is an offence to sow, plant, tend harvest etc. a narcotic plant (usually cannabis).
